Parents!

…should know about this wonderful process happening in schools and classrooms.  Not only will they know what their children are excited about, they can use the process at home, too.

The Agreements are a positive way to be together.  Inclusion happens when children are asked “What did you do at school today?”  Reflecting on behavior can be more meaningful participation than consequences and reinforcements.  And let’s not forget the protective factors families can foster for success at school and in life.

If you want to learn more about how to involve parents…if you are a parent and want to know more about the process of Tribes and how it can be a part of your home-life, visit the forum and get started in the conversation!

One Response to “Parents!”

My school in Vancouver, BC has decided to incorporate your Tribes program and I am hopeful it will be successful. Our recent school survey completed by both students and parents identified “bullying” as a major concern….in other words, our school was not a safe community to play and learn.

Your program resonates with many of the strategies I use with my 3-5 years old children. The attentive listening, the mutual respect, the appreciation and no put=downs, and the “right to pass” are just called different things in my field of early childhood education.

Just imagine if all children were given the tools to handle their circumstances and situations before entering elementary school??!!

There is an opportunity to help a generation of children to become a more active, pro-social society where mutual respect is the norm.

    Thanks for your work.

    Linda
