Social Studies Project: California Missions – Multiple Intelligences

By Mary Palin · June 30, 2008 · Comments(0)

This Social Studies project is based on Multiple Intelligence (MI) theory. Allow 10-14 days for students to complete. This can be simple (choose one MI) or complex (choose any three to complete). It’s a great example as well as a seed for your own ideas and applications. My 4th graders (and their parents) love it.

Extended Nametag (Parts of Speech)

Use index cards to create a personal, content imbedded, opportunity for students to think, move, talk, and interact with classmates. This is as much about creating a learning community as it is about the parts of speech. It is easily adaptable and reusable.

Any Language Arts Content

This is an interactive experience for beginning, ending, or taking a moment mid-lesson to reflect, assess, and encourage some critical thinking among your students…especially when you transfer responsibility to them for creating the questions.
